Online Puppy Training
That Shows You the Whole Process

Follow one real puppy through more than 85 complete training sessions from 8 to 12 weeks of age, including the distractions, mistakes, and adjustments that help learning click. Learn not only what to teach, but how to train the puppy in front of you.

Meet Sarah Cochran

I’m Sarah Cochran, the puppy trainer and educator behind The Trainable Puppy and the founder of SDG Goldens. For years, I have raised, evaluated, and trained puppies from birth through placement while helping families prepare for life with a new puppy. That work happens in the middle of real family life, with children, responsibilities, interruptions, and all the unexpected moments that come with a young dog.

That experience has taught me that puppies do not follow one perfect formula. Some are confident, some are cautious, and some would rather chase a leaf than pay attention. My courses show the complete learning process so you can understand what your puppy is communicating, recognize why a lesson is or is not working, and make thoughtful adjustments for the puppy in front of you.

Learn What to Do When
Training Does Not Go as Planned

Most puppy training videos show what a skill looks like after it works. The Trainable Puppy shows the attempts before the breakthrough, explains what your puppy’s behavior may be communicating, and helps you decide whether to continue, simplify the lesson, change the environment, or stop for the day.

How It Works

Observe. Interpret. Adapt. Evaluate.

Effective training begins with noticing what is happening in front of you. You will learn to observe your puppy’s attention, confidence, energy, confusion, and excitement; interpret what those responses may mean; adapt the lesson without abandoning the skill you are teaching; and evaluate the puppy’s response before deciding what to do next. This process helps you move beyond copying training demonstrations and begin making thoughtful decisions for your own puppy.

What Makes The Trainable Puppy Different

These courses are built from years of raising, evaluating, and training puppies in a busy family environment. Instead of showing only polished demonstrations, the lessons include real puppies, real distractions, and the adjustments that training sometimes requires. Sarah explains what she notices, why she changes her approach, and how you can make thoughtful decisions for the puppy in front of you.

Common Questions

What ages are these puppy training courses designed for?

The puppies featured in the courses are primarily 8 to 12 weeks old, but the training is not limited to that age. The communication principles, routines, and foundational skills can also benefit older puppies and adult dogs beginning training. Adjust the pace and difficulty based on the individual dog in front of you.

Are these courses appropriate for serious behavior concerns?

These courses focus on foundational training, everyday routines, communication, and confidence building. They are not substitutes for individualized help with aggression, severe anxiety, separation distress, or established resource guarding. For those concerns, seek a qualified professional who can evaluate your puppy or dog directly.

How many sessions are included?

Training the Puppy in Front of You: The First 30 Days includes two days devoted to settling in and 28 days of training, with approximately three short, real-life training sessions per day. The course contains more than 85 complete sessions filmed from beginning to end.

Do I need previous dog-training experience?

No. The courses are designed for everyday puppy owners, including people training their first puppy. Sarah explains what she notices, why she makes each adjustment, and how you can apply the same decision-making process to your own puppy.

What is included when I enroll?

Your one-time purchase includes lifetime access to the self-paced course you select. Each course combines detailed lessons with substantial printable resources created specifically for its subject. Depending on the course, these include companion guides, reference handbooks, planners, and other practical downloads. These are not brief worksheets or lesson summaries; they provide thorough, stand-alone guidance that you can use alongside the course and return to throughout your puppy’s development. The First 30 Days also includes more than 85 complete training sessions filmed from beginning to end.

Are the courses self-paced?

es. Although The First 30 Days follows Bingley’s development over a 30-day period, you do not have to complete the course in 30 days. You can begin when you are ready, pause when needed, repeat lessons, and return to the material later. Your one-time purchase includes lifetime access.
